Something to Prove

Chapman's DJ Twitty made a name for himself last season while breaking many records at Chapman High School and winning a 3A Football State Title.
While some would say Twitty is right where he wants to be, DJ wants more. Limestone College is the only school that has offered the rising senior. While premier schools like Ohio State have shown great interest in Twitty, none have pulled the trigger on the stud running back. Head Football Coach Mark Hodge complimented Twitty's work ethic and skills on and off the field earlier this summer on the Saturday Sports Report (Fox Sports 1400). "DJ is a special player," said Hodge, "He has the ability to make a play in a key moment of a football game." While Limestone is a program on the rise, many local members of the media think Twitty should have better options. DJ runs a 4.6 in the 40 yard dash standing at 6 feet tall and weighing in at 200 pounds. According to the High School Sports Report, Twitty had 403 carries for 2426 yards & 24 touchdowns in 2016. "DJ is in the top 5 best Chapman running backs ever," says Britt Wilkerson, Voice of the Panthers. "Each of the top 5 had different traits but DJ seems to get better as the game wears on. He's not the fastest or shiftiest, but in a era where passing the football is predominant, he does pretty dang good." The all time leading rusher at Chapman averaged 6 yards a carry in 2016 and looks to add to his impressive stats in 2017. The Panther open up at home on August 18th as they welcome Union County to Inman. Listen to Britt Wilkerson & Elton Chapman Friday on
